My home or yours?

Hey dolls,

Hope you are all well.

Now I know I usually write about love and life and helping people with their problems etc but the blog is called love, life and EVERYTHING in between and I feel this subject deserves to be talked about and discussed.

So I was reading the newspaper when I came across a story that shocked me. A group of squatters have WON the legal right to live in some one elses house! The house in Islington which costs 1 million pounds and is owned by a father of two who was having the house refurbished for his family to happily live in. He comes back one day to find a group of Eastern European squatters living in it. What does our country do? NOTHING. The squatters were given legal aid and the right to stay.
What rights do they have? They have not paid taxes here, they do not work, so what gives them THE RIGHT?!

Another man, 72 year old George went to walk his dog one evening. He came home to find bags of his belongings on the street and the locks changed! A Lithuanian family had moved in and told George that the house was now theirs. What is in their mind to make them think that it is their house? It completely baffles me!

Another story I read was of a man who popped out to the shops. He realised he left his wallet at home so came back to collect it. As he returned, he found a Romanian couple and their small child MOVING IN!! All the cupboards were being emptied and the Romanian gentleman claimed he would be changing the locks and the owner must leave! The owner threatened to kidnap his young child if they did not leave! Is that what it comes down to? A man, scared in his own home has to threaten to kidnap their child just for them to leave? to be honest, I would probably have done the same!

In London, a group called the Advisory Service for Squatters runs a volunteer service helping squatters. It publishes the Squatters' Handbook and has drafted a legal warning to be used by squatters. In the late 1960s, the Family Squatters Advisory Service (FSAS) was founded in London, to help defend the rights of squatters.

The worst thing is that our Government do nothing about it. Squatters have legal rights. How this happens, I have no idea but it is ridiculous. There is nothing the police can even do. If I came home and found squatters in my house, I would run to the kitchen, get a knife and threaten them. But who would get put in prison? ME. Even though I was defending myself and my home, I would get done for having a weapon, to me that is absurd.

Surely something needs to be done in this kind of situation? How can these people get off a boat and move into someone elses house, I just do not understand. To be honest, I am all up for helping people and making their lives easier. They may have had a really tough life in Romania for example and want a better life so come here illegally, but when you start faking papers, squatting in some one elses house or stealing jobs from the thousands here who can't find one, that is when things become ludicrous and ridiculous!

I think our Government has become slightly corrupt and something must be done!

I would love to hear the thoughts of other people so please leave a comment or you can email me at blogdoll21@gmail.com or follow me on twitter @LittleMissVak ..

Have a great day!!

Pride: Our Own Worst Enemy!

Here we are in a vicious battle with our greatest enemy of all time. He is crafty and knows each and every one of our weaknesses. He has millions of resources to use against us and his armies are huge. His war against us appears to be in his favor in every way. However, we have one weapon at our disposal which will conquer this enemy in every case. Yet most of us rarely use it. Most of us have the attitude that we can handle the situation on our own, that we are more than capable. How foolish are we?!?! How many going into a war wouldn’t take an M-4 or some sort of weapon? The military has a creed they recite concerning their weapon. This creed states:

“This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will”......”Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life. So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but peace! Amen”

Now suppose for a minute that a soldier didn’t think this was important. Imagine if he believed his rifle was only a tool that would be nice but not necessary. Because sometimes when we get onto the front lines and have left our weapon back at base, it may be to late to go back for it. What I want to talk about today with all of this is PRIDE.

Proverbs 16:5Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished.” Be assured that the pride we hold in our own lives is the greatest weapon against us. Satan knows that this is his biggest resource. If he can only get us to believe that we don’t need God in our lives then he has us for sure. Why does he know this? Because Satan fell to this great evil himself. Satan was not always evil, but was made up to perfection. I feel this is one of the greatest examples of pride we have to learn from.

Ezekiel 28: 12-19: “You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: carnelian, chrysolite and emerald, topaz, onyx and jasper, lapis lazuli, turquoise and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared. You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you. Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings. By your many sins and dishonest trade you have desecrated your sanctuaries. So I made a fire come out from you, and it consumed you, and I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching. All the nations who knew you are appalled at you; you have come to a horrible end and will be no more.”

Satan had everything going for him. But he began to think that he was greater than he was. He believed he could do it all by himself. As a result of his foolish thinking, he was cast into the ground and made into the worst of everything. He became evil in every sense of the word. All because he because prideful and thought he didn't need God or anyone else. For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Galatians 6:3

But here we are in today’s world and we are making the same mistakes. Maybe not on quite a grand scale but we are being prideful nonetheless. I remember my father always telling me the story of the man nailing shingles onto his roof when he suddenly slipped and started falling down the roof. As he was falling he prayed to God saying, “Please Lord, if only you’ll stretch forth your hand and save me I will be a better Christian. I will stop smoking and cheating on my wife. I will go to church each week, just please save me.” At the very last second before falling off the roof, his pant leg caught on a nail stopping him. He then stood up and looking toward the sky said, “Never mind God, this nail saved me.”

How many of us in our own lives are lacking at asking the Lord for help with the things we need? Are we really foolish enough to think that we don’t need His help? We truly are fools if we do. I’m sure each and every one of you have found, just as I have, that when we stop trusting in the Lord and asking for His help, we suddenly find our lives spinning out of control. It is during the times when we think we don’t need the Lord, that He takes away the blessings and shows us how much we really DO need Him.

Remember, everything that you have in this world came from God. You haven’t earned anything in your life without God’s helping hand. Without the Lord, we are nothing! Lower than dirt of the Earth. He is Supreme in all. Don’t get proud in your own lives. Acknowledge the Lord for EVERYTHING you receive. He has given us everything we need for our lives to make us happy, and to prosper, and return to Him. And the ONLY thing He asks of us in return is to remember Him and give Him the praise. How hard of a task is that for us. Work on it this week. Because I know that each of us need to. We are all lacking to some degree in our pride. I was given this idea when I was a child and I’m challenging each of you to do this in your own lives. Each and every day set aside a little bit of time for a “Gratitude Prayer”. This is one prayer where you don’t ask God for one thing. All you do in this prayer is thank Him for all He has given you. Give Him the praise and glory for all that He is and all that He does for you! May God continue to bless you all in your lives and all praise we give to Him, for He is supreme, grand, and all wonderful!

Will you be my Valentine?

Hey dolls!

So, coming up on Monday is Valentines day, originally know as Saint Valentines Day. The day is named after one or more early Christian martyrs named Valentine and was established in the year 500AD! So you can see, this is something that has been going on for years and years.
Some people look at Valentines day and think it is stupid and a day of wasting money, I can see where they are coming from, if you love some one you should tell them daily and not just wait for the one day of the year where people make money out of it. Declare your love often! Some people look at it and think it is beautiful which I also agree with. Who wouldn't want flowers delivered to their office? Or a card sent to their home? Statistics show most engagements occur on this day, which I completely understand. It is a day of love, why not show your feelings and affections more?

I am all up for swapping teddy bears and chocolate or a romantic trip to Paris. I do love love! I love the idea of Love. I miss the feeling of love. I am a hopeless romantic :)

I am currently single, so on Valentines day I am going to dinner with 4 of my girls. We are all single and have all had boy troubles so thought it would be the perfect thing to do. If I don't have a man to show my affections to, I will give it to my friends more :)

If anyone feels they want to send me something, let me know, I will give you my address! ;-)

So, this was just a quick blog to say Happy Valentines Day. If you are in a relationship and in love, express it and show it more than usual. If you are not in a relationship but still like some one, tell them. When better to show your true emotions and feelings than on Valentines Day!!

Lotsa love Dolls...

"Letters To God"

The other night my wife and I got onto Netflix to find a good movie to watch. While scrolling down the list we came across the movie “Letters To God”. I vaguely recall once hearing about this movie and we decided that although it would probably make us both cry, we’d give it a shot.

This is probably one of the best movies I have ever seen. And yes, we both cried. I will recommend it to anybody wishing to see a great spiritual movie. For those of you who have not seen it, the movie is about an eight year old boy named Tyler who has cancer in his brain. Throughout the movie this boy stays faithful by writing letters to God and sending them in the mail. Through his faith and devotion, many others in the movie start to come to know God in their own lives by writing letters to Him as well. By the time the end of the movie comes, it is amazing to see how many lives this child has touched by his letters to God.

At first this doesn’t seem like much to everybody. They think it is cute and his own way of staying strong. As the movie progresses, however, they discover it is much more. This young boy has a TRUE relationship with God. The kind of personal relationship we all should strive for. This is Tyler’s way of praying. So many of us get caught up in our own lives that by the end of the day when we are tired and ready for bed, our prayers become less meaningful. Just one more thing to add to the “Before bed” list along with putting on our pajamas and brushing our teeth.

How wonderful would it be if all of us could learn to have that true relationship with our Father in Heaven? The kind of relationship Jesus had and taught us we need to have.  The grandmother in the movie says at one point, “Prayer is just telling God what‘s in your heart and asking Him to help you with it.”

The key point that we need to remember from this is that He is not just God….He is OUR Father in Heaven. Think about a child who lives with his family in California moving to college in New York. He wouldn't have the opportunity to visit his father that often but his father would still love to hear from him on a regular basis. Do you think that our Heavenly Father, with all of His infinite love for us, wouldn’t want to hear from us on a regular basis as well. Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”

God hears and answers our prayers. It is always through His will and not ours but they ARE answered if we believe in Him.

In addition to just focusing on ourselves, we are at the same time being an example to others. When we are close to God it shows on our continence for all to see. They become inspired by what they see in us. Tyler just wrote letters to God in this movie, yet his example cause so many others to come to know God a little closer as well and their prayers were answered too.

I would encourage each and every one of you to go and watch “Letters to God” if you haven’t already. It is a wonderful movie with such a great message for each of us. Let’s all do better with our relationships with God. Always have a pray in your heart. Talk with your Father. Tell Him about your day, your goals, your worries, and your sorrows. Ask Him for help with anything you need. HE WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU. May God bless each of you in your own lives forever!
